2014 Family Leadership Project Northwest Arkansas

We are accepting applications for the Family Leadership Project .Scheduled for April 25-26,May 16-17 and June 6-7.The training will be held in Springdale, AR. at the Jones Center. This is a free training for parents, guardians of children with developmental disabilities and individuals with developmental disabilities. Some of the topics to be covered are IEP's, IDEA, transition, resources, advocacy, legislation, how to effect system change, and much more. Some of the cost to attend may be reimbursed according to state policy. Lodging may be provided on a case-by-case basis. ARKANSAS GOVERNOR’S DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES COUNCIL NOTICE OF FUNDS AVAILABLE

The Arkansas Governor’s Developmental Disabilities Council (DDC) is funded by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act to promote capacity building and to advocate for a consumer and family centered comprehensive service system. Council goals are based on analysis of the state service system and public input. Funded projects and activities are designed to help individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in the achievement of independence, productivity, integration and inclusion in the community. read more »
