During the year the DD Council supports and/or conducts a number of
activities which inform, educate and even entertain individuals with
disabilities and their families. Chief among these activities is the annual
State DD Network Conference. Attended by more than 700 people with
disabilities, family members, state government and not-for-profit service
providers, and direct support professionals, the conference general sessions
and workshops cover a wide range of topics, including self-advocacy, health,
community inclusion, education, services and supports, employment, and public
policy – all designed to further the cause of people served by the DD Network..
