Brenda Mercer Named DDC Executive Director

The Arkansas Governor's Developmental Disabilities Council has appointed Brenda Mercer as its new Executive Director. A member of the DD Council staff since 1999, Ms. Mercer has served as Interim Executive Director for the past few months. Prior to that she was the Council's Family Services Coordinator. She has been wholly responsible for the Council’s highly successful Family Leadership Project since former DDC Coordinator Mary Edwards retired in late 2010. In another staff move, Ms. Laura Wenher has been named the DD Council's new Grant Analyst. Recently employed as the MIPPA Coordinator in the Arkansas Insurance Department's Senior Health Insurance Program, Ms. Wehner will be primarily responsible for monitoring grants activities and reports.
